Danny Martinez- Color Guard Instructor
Danny has been a colorguard instructor for 21 years and currently works at Lake Highlands High School and The Colony High School, both of which are in the Dallas Area. He was an active performer, instructor and judge with the North Texas Colorguard Association (NTCA). He has served on the Board of Directors for 4 years and is currently the President of NTCA. NTCA is one of the country’s largest winterguard associations.
He has been involved with the design and instruction of winterguards since 1992. From 1992-1999, he instructed at Springtown High School and led them to be one of the top colorguards in the Ft. Worth area. From 2000-2008, he taught at Crowley High School. Crowley High School was named National Champions by Marching Auxiliaries in 2006. From 2009, he has taught at The Colony High School and Lake Highlands High School, both schools compete at Winter Guard International (WGI) and NTCA events and both are award winning programs.
Mr. Martinez has taught many different levels and ages of students. He taught an elementary winterguard program at Alvord Elementary School, teaching a group of 3rd graders how to spin a flag and rifle. Also, he worked with Legacy Senior Winterguard which comprised of adults over the age of 30. He worked for Marching Auxiliaries for 14 years and taught at numerous colorguard camps all over the country.
Choreography is a specialty of Mr. Martinez. He has written many shows for award winning groups, including: Tupelo High School, South Pontotoc High School, and Vicksburg High School in Mississippi, Manatee High School and Coral Gables High School in Florida, Belton High School and Platte County High School in Missouri and numerous High Schools in Texas
Mr. Martinez also was the director of Ars Nova “A” winterguard (a 6 time WGI Finalist) and was the director of White Gold for 2 years. White Gold won the bronze medal in 2011 at the WGI World Championships in Dayton, OH.
Mr. Martinez’s passion is colorguard and he strives to teach his students that “the quest of Performance Excellence never ends”.

Chris Sullivan- Drum Major Instructor
Chris is currently the band director at West Platte in Weston, MO. He was previously
the Director of Bands at Belton High School for 18 years teaching middle school and high school bands. His experience with the role of drum major started as early as his freshman year in high school. Attending Marching Auxiliaries Camp the summer before his freshman year ignited his love for conducting in the one ictus style of conducting. Continuing to learn and strengthen his role as leader, Chris was drum major for all four years of high school under the guidance and direction of Mrs. Melanie Maxwell.
Attending Northwest Missouri State University, Chris had his next opportunity to lead "The Musical Pride of Northwest" in the fall of 1996 and 1997. During this time, Chris' summer employment was teaching high school drum majors with Marching Auxiliaries Summer Camps based in Texas. Traveling across the country, Chris was responsible for designing the drum major curriculum as well as adjudicating. He taught these camps for 10 years.
He has since been teaching area high school drum majors including Platte County, Louisburg, Pleasant Hill, North Platte, Smithville, Lawson, Kearney, Richmond, Cameron, Lawson, Polo, Staley, Paola, Maysville and Park Hill.
